What Is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment

The Fall 2011 issue of T E News (the abbreviation for Transformational Entertainment) began with an article on “What Is Entertaiment?” The word is derived from the Medieval Latin intertenere, from the prefix inter meaning “inside,” and the suffix tenere, rooted in the Indo-European root ten, meaning to hold. This definition holds up, even as the entertainment industry has gone through massive changes from a time when it was difficult to market new films and records, to a time when consumers are bargain hunting, loading up their iPods with music downloaded from websites like Craigslist or eBay and finding independent recording artists and filmmakers on the Internet.
