Entertainment is a form of cultural production that entertains and amuses people. It is often socially and economically valued as a way to pass the time, or to divert attention from unpleasant or routine matters. It may involve the use of familiar images and structures that have a high potential for remix and transfer across media. It also may target the kinds of emotional and cognitive themes that the human brain was evolved to deeply react to (like backstabbing, murders, etc). It is an objective activity, involves communication, requires external stimulus, offers pleasure and occurs in a passive form.
