Entertaiment is the activity of entertaining, or the act of being entertained. It can range from an individual selecting private entertainment from a wide array of available pre-recorded products, to a couple preparing a banquet or party; to performances for thousands or more, such as a rite, celebration, non secular festival, or satire. The experience of being entertained has become strongly related to leisure, so that one common understanding of the idea is fun and laughter, although many entertainments have a serious purpose, such as attaining perception or highbrow growth.
